Wet Underfloor Heating Manifolds

We provide over 20 different types of manifold including Heavy Duty Chrome 2 to 12 Port Manifolds & Plastic 2 to 12 Port Wet Underfloor Heating Manifolds.

Why do we need a manifold and what is its function?
The manifold acts as the distribution hub for the under floor heating pipework and the connection between the under floor heating and the heat source. This means there are no joints under the concrete floor; it is one continuous run. The manifold is a mixing manifold and therefore needed to mix the hot water from the boiler to attain the lower temperature for the under floor heating.

How big is the manifold?
Ideally, the top of the manifold should be positioned between 600mm and 700mm from the floor high enough to bend the under floor heating pipework up to it.

Where should I place the manifold?
The manifold should be placed as close to the room that is to be heated as possible. If it is a multi zone system, the manifold should be placed as near to the centre of the house as possible so as to heat as many of the rooms with pipework from another room.

Wet Underfloor Heating PPSU Plastic Manifolds
The underfloor heating PPSU manifold is assembled from single port PSU plastic sections. Each section includes 1" male spigot, fitted with two 'O'-rings and a female 1" socket. The sections are assembled by simply screwing them together by hand. This feature creates more flexibility and allows the installer to put together manifolds of the required size on site. Alternatively underfloor heating can supply ready assembled manifolds. If required these can be lengthend or shortened without any tools. This unique feature can significantly reduce installer/supplier stock levels.

The sections are manufactured using PSU plastic. Polysulfone is a high cost, rigid, material characterised by high strength, very high surface-temperature limits, low creep, self-extinguishing ability, and resistance to greases, solvents, and chemicals. The underfloor heating PPSU manifold system offers a flexible alternative to expensive brass and chrome manifolds. The wet underfloor heating Plastic Manifold includes the following:

  • Fully adjustable flowmeters
  • 2 ball valves
  • Connection to the ball valve with gasket with plane seat and o-ring
  • 2 brackets with supports
  • 2 built-in manual air vents with 'O'-ring
  • 2 1/2" drain cocks
  • M24 x 1,6mm pipe connectors
